This watercolor was created from a photo taken in Yosemite Valley in the winter while walking along the Merced River. There is a certain peacefulness in the winter in Yosemite. There is not as much to do, but there are not the never-ending crowds of people that visit the park in the summertime. I love the meditative quiet of the snow banking the near frozen riven and the solitude that's available at this time of year. Not to mention that the park is lovely in the winter blanketed with snow.
