Artist's Description

There once was a train that ran through the city of Alameda in the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. Clearly, at the time this image was captured the train tracks were mostly all but disappeared, only the couple of rails that end abruptly just feet from where I stood with my camera and a few that were behind me remained. The pathway of the long-gone train is clear from the vegetation, and the lack of vegetation leading off from the rails that are visible in the foreground and creates a nice visual of what once was. The image has been modified in post processing to give it a painterly, semi-abstract feel.
