Sometimes, when the weather cooperates and all the conditions are right, the icon Half Dome in Yosemite National Park in Northern California will reflect the beautiful reds and oranges of the suns rays just before they disappear below the horizon to transition from day to night. On this clear winter day the conditions were indeed amazing and the colors of Half Dome's granite transitioned as the sun set to this colorful red-orange hue. It was breathtaking to behold and so much fun to capture with my camera. Although at the time of this photo California is experiencing on-going drought conditions one can still see (thankfully) some snow of the ground of the valley floor and a bit on the peak of Half Dome and the steep granite walls that lead up to her face. The redwoods and pine trees abound in the valley and add to the beauty of the most magical National Park and are reflected along with Half Dome in the almost quite waters of the Merced River that flows through Yosemite Valley.
Thank you for visiting my website. It was Marcel Proust that said, “The voyage of discovery is not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.” I love seeing the world through what could be considered a new set of eyes, my camera lens. Mostly I capture images in nature and in my general surroundings that touch my heart, that spark my imagination and/or that move my creative spirit. It is my hope you find one or more images here that touch and move you in some way as well. I invite you to browse through each of the galleries to find those images speak to you or that you know would be a perfect gift for a loved one or a friend.
